Help with slow running PC game could be the graphics card / video?

my PC specs are; Acer Aspire M1100 AMD Sempron ™ Processor 3800 + 2.20GHz 512 MB RAM 32-bit operating system 2 70 GB Hard Drives ATI Radeon X1250 running Windows Vista, it is new, purchased about a month and a half I have not changed the pc at all. Problem I have is when I try to play with the sims 2 seasons expansion pack it is very slow starty and stop. You hear the sound before the action happends on the screen. I was wondering if it could be my graphics card / video. If so, what card would you recommend buying a PC with my specs? I can not afford costly. I'm in the UK. Any help would be appreciated. 512 MB of ram is not enough. At least 1 Gig. If you can afford, 2 Gig. You can never have too much memory. Having more memory can speed up most everything. (I think memory is the most important thing for the computer. Today, most all computers have a fairly quick process and enough hard drive …. but for some reason, they remain committed to put very little memory is new PC.)
