The plot surrounding this game is the idea that the villain Zabuza, a mysterious Ninja character from the village of the hidden mist, has taken it upon himself to attack your village. This villain has the ability to clone himself into several identical characters, using this ability to confuse the player. You must choose to attack who you think is the real Zabuza, otherwise you will be subject to an attack by his part. Also, the gamer must learn which attack will actually inflict damage on his enemy, since different weapons and techniques will have different effects.

The free online Naruto game, Shadow Battle, was developed using the flash platform by Adobe. It is browser based, and loads really fast on your average computer. The game has nice background images and character animations, resembling those of the Naruto anime series. There is no apparent music score in the background, but this is compensated by the detailed work in spent in game play. As soon as you start the application, a brief description of the storyline will appear. The next screen will take you to the options screen, where you’ll get a chance to choose your weapon. Available options consist of the Kunai, the shuriken, the senbon, and the Demon Wind Shuriken. Choosing your weapon is as far as you go in terms of options. A status bar on the top of the screen will show your health status, and that of your opponent. As soon as you’re ready, you may click fight to let the adventure begin.

The option screen will come around after every attack, where you will get a chance to select your weapon again. In battle, the Zabuza will create clones of himself and shuffle them around like a game of cards. After which, you are given the chance to attack one of them. If you choose poorly, the Zabuza will proceed to take out a really big sword and strike you with it. You will get a chance to strike back as long as there is some energy in your status bar. If you manage to win the game, an option to play again will pop up. A glith however, will leave you hanging with an animated image for as long as you stare at it.

Naruto Shadow Battle has been made available to play online free. It is a simple game, where Naruto fans can enjoy some of the action included in the anime series. The use of controls is limited to a few mouse clicks, when selecting a weapon and when choosing the Zabuza to attack. Just remember, keep your eye on the Zabuza!
